Through this series, students examine the important process that established our federal government. The impact of the Lou-isiana Purchase and Lewis and Clark's expedition were major events affecting the territory of the United States during this period. From Washington's presidency through the terms of James Madison, an in-depth historical study is presented in this series. Delving into the history of slavery and Southern planta-tion life, students view their impact on our nation. The experi-ences of the Industrial Revolution and the development of ma-jor inventions involve the students in the significance of the events of our past. Concluding with the War of 1812, the impact of this period in history is examined. (© 2003)
